BEAR Tower Defense Beat Extreme Mode Guide
Roster checks, blockade stalling, and map-gated Extreme clears after Hungry for More.
Extreme is the optional endgame difficulty tier in BEAR Tower Defense that sits above Hard. It is not available on every map — community testing after Hungry for More tied Extreme heavily to candy-themed stages and Fat Lands, while classic farms like Haunted Mansion may omit it entirely depending on the lobby build.
This page is a preparation checklist, not a promise that one composition clears every Extreme stage forever. Patch HP numbers move; the habits below — anti-air first, puzzles always, sell before bosses — stay useful.
Extreme vs Hard vs Easy
| Tier | Role | Who should queue |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | Learning + Quidz farms | New accounts, pin hunters |
| Medium | Bridge difficulty | Players testing new maps |
| Hard | Standard serious PvE | Teams with S-tier unlocks |
| Extreme | Map-gated endgame | Fully geared squads after Hard mastery |
If you still leak on Hard, read Beat Hard Mode and Beat Boss Waves before spending evenings on Extreme wipes.
Pre-queue roster checklist
Do not open Extreme until most boxes are checked:
- Cheese Factory owned and understood for economy.
- Psychic leveled in prior Hard clears — burst and often anti-air duty.
- Rockstar or equivalent splash for clumps.
- Dedicated Anti-Air (Electrisam, Hype Beast, or proven Psychic coverage).
- Puzzle habit from Complete Puzzles — skipping Battery buffs on Extreme is how easy runs become instant losses.
- Optional: Scrando for path blockades on Fat Lands-style stages.
- Burst items from Best Item Combos ready for final bosses.
Use the Unlock Priority Planner if any S-tier tower is still locked. Coins spent on novelty skins do not buy Extreme clears.
Why Fat Lands Extreme feels different
Streams that queued Fat Lands Extreme on patch day often wiped because:
- Pathing is denser than Lost Temple.
- Cookie / candy final-wave gimmicks can drop or disrupt towers.
- Blockade play with Scrando is stronger here than on wide temple lanes.
- Players skipped Medium and brought Easy-farm compositions.
Recommended ladder on Fat Lands:
- Easy for path + pin scouting (Collect Pins).
- Medium to test anti-air timing.
- Hard until clears are clean.
- Extreme with a full squad and callouts.
Scrando on Extreme
Scrando places track blockades enemies must chew. On Extreme:
- Walls buy time for Psychic upgrades and puzzle completions.
- Stamps that boost blockade strength multiply stall value.
- Walls do not hit flyers — keep anti-air separate.
- If you lack the Game Pass / unlock, compensate with tighter sell timing and more players covering lanes — see Game Passes.
Treat Scrando as a force multiplier for stall maps, not a solo win condition.
Mid-match rules that matter more on Extreme
Puzzles are mandatory
The ~50% Cheese buff window from puzzles is the difference between affordable level-five Psychic stacks and bankrupt lanes. Assign one player to call puzzle spawns every wave.
Sell early junk
Buckethead openings still work, but Extreme bosses punish players who never recycle Cheese. Sell forward units and rebuild near the boss path exactly like Beat Boss Waves teaches for Chained Bob.
Anti-air before pride
Flying Bobs and balloon variants delete Extreme runs that look fine on ground HP bars. If your planner shows an anti-air gap, leave the Extreme lobby.
Call leaks early
Co-op voice or chat beats silent hope. One player watching the bridge or cookie lane should ping before the life counter collapses.
When not to queue Extreme
Skip Extreme when:
- You still need Quidz — farm Haunted Mansion Easy instead (Grind Quidz).
- Half the lobby is underleveled or missing anti-air.
- You are pin hunting — use Easy (Collect Pins).
- The map lobby does not even list Extreme (common on older stages).
Practice plan (one evening)
- Warm up with a Hard clear on a known map.
- Run Fat Lands Medium with the same roster.
- Attempt Fat Lands Extreme once; if you wipe before mid-game, fix the weak role (economy, air, or puzzles) before retrying.
- Log which wave failed — wave-five air vs final cookie boss need different answers.
Do not confuse Extreme with Endless Mode — Extreme is a harder fixed clear on select maps; Endless is an open-ended survival ladder.\n\n## Related pages

Extreme rewards patience. Clear Hard cleanly, bring stall and anti-air, and treat every wipe as roster feedback — not a reason to buy random Game Passes mid-tilt.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Extreme mode on every BEAR Tower Defense map?
No. Extreme is map-gated. Fat Lands and some candy stages offer it more often; classic maps may not list it.
Should I play Extreme before beating Hard?
No. Master Hard Mode, puzzles, and anti-air first. Extreme assumes you already own the meta toolkit.
Do I need Scrando for Extreme?
Helpful on Fat Lands for blockades, but not mandatory if your team has strong Psychic upgrades, puzzle discipline, and clean sell timing.
Does Extreme give more Quidz than Haunted Mansion Easy?
Not reliably. Haunted Mansion Easy remains the documented farm. Extreme is for challenge and mastery, not efficient Quidz per hour.
What causes most Extreme wipes?
Missing anti-air, skipped puzzles, and queuing with Easy-farm compositions on a new map like Fat Lands.
